Garlic Butter Bubble Bread

Bubble Bread

Easy, cozy, comfort food at its finest. This Bubble Bread is built on store-bought flaky biscuits and is filled with the flavors of fresh garlic and Italian herbs. Fast and simple to make, this bread goes will everything and is always the first thing to disappear.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16-ounce can of flaky biscuits (8 biscuits)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced or grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt, to taste (I use a big pinch)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese(s) (I like mozzarella, fontina, provolone, and/or Colby Jack)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Adjust the oven rack to the middle position.
  2. Cut the biscuits into quarters. Roll each piece into a ball and place them in a baking dish, leaving a little space in between them, as they’ll expand or “bubble up.” (NOTE: you can use any dish you like – from a cake pan or pie plate to a ceramic baking dish and/or brownie pan. I use a round pie plate or a 9-by-13-inch baking dish. This is flexible!)
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter with the olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic, and a good pinch of salt. Stir to blend. When the butter has melted, pour the mixture all over the biscuit pieces. I usually roll them around to coat fully.
  4. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes, or until nice and golden on top. Pull out the pan, cover the bread evenly with the cheese and then bake until it is fully melted and is optimally gooey, about 3 or 4 more minutes. Serve warm.
